Wow – is all I can say at the minute! The Big Venture Challenge has kicked off for us with a bang. We have been given a fantastic ‘dream team’ of three key individuals who will be championing Groop supporting us through the next 12 months to scale Groop up and bring in the investors and partners in the process. They really get stuck into the nitty gritty, are huge fans of Groop and can really visualise the future potential.
I have begun to attend workshops on pitching to investors, which is quite different from pitching to buyers or partners of course. I always find it challenging to separate my two heads – one focused on business and one on social impact. I suspect I am not the only one with this conundrum in the social enterprise world. But focus we must, the numbers of clubs coming on slowed over the budgeting period but decision making has now sped up and we are looking at an additional 1000 clubs coming on board until the end of the year.
We are also still in the running for two very major contracts, you’ll have to watch this space for news on these.
Oh and the cabinet office LA lead is telling key people about the great work we are doing at Groop – it all helps!
