We are welcoming our first contract off the mainland this week – Guernsey! Small at first but looking to grow.
And we are also delighted to bring on board Parkour UK. Parkour has long been one of my favourite activities – not for me to participate in personally (I can feel the nervousness of my team here) but for the young people I know who love taking part. A few years ago our team organised two large extreme sporting events for 2000 young people. One of the sports that young people took part in was Parkour and it was by far the most popular for the girls in particular.
What I like about it, is that it’s not at all exclusive. You don’t need expensive kit or equipment. You can take part for free or at very low cost and for many young people this is really important. We also feel that Parkour fits our profile well – we want to take away the boring admin that holds group leaders back (often parents who want to get their child doing something they are interested in) and provide a support system that allows them to take part without worrying about paperwork and red tape.
Parkour frequently has young group leaders and they are also big users of mobile technology – a cloud based system is perfect for them. Parkour need an immediate solution to provide support to organisers of Parkour groups and to the new potential group leaders they don’t have the resource to support.
So, if you feel like jumping around in the summer (or your children and friends do) get in touch with me and I’ll point you in the right direction!
